Charles E. Jones, Sr.
Charles E. "Buck" Jones, Sr., went home to the Lord on June 17, 2016 at Hubbard House West after a short illness.
Mr. Jones was a veteran of the US Marine Corps serving during the Korean War. He also retired from Appalachian Power Company after 39 years of service and was a member of Davis Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.
Buck loved to make people smile and would always say "You need to smile and laugh every day."
Preceding him in death were his two wonderful wives, Charlotte (Bailey) Jones and Deloris (Atkinson) Jones; parents, Herman and Christina (Wolfe) Jones; brother, Delmer L. Jones; and sister, Louise Raines.
Survivors include his loving sons, Charles E. Jones, Jr. and wife, Karen of Pataskala, OH, and Barry L. Jones and fiancée, Brenda Garlow of Cross Lanes; sister, Joy Starcher of Dunbar; great-grandson who he raised, Jakob Matthews; step-children, David King and wife, Sandy and T. Steven King and wife, Lisa, all of Charleston, Theresa Hanrahan and husband, Mike, of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Judy Meliea Whitehair and husband, John of Elkview and Stanley King and wife, Patty of Sissonville; grandchildren, Clint, Calvin and Cameron Jones; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Monday, June 20, 2016 at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Vannoy officiating. Entombment with military honors provided by American Legion Post 61, Clendenin, will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Visitation will be two hours prior to service time at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name should be directed to the Women's Aid Society of Davis Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Davis Circle, Charleston, WV 25387.
