David Alan "George" Young 63 of Elkview passed away from a long illness with family by his side on January 8, 2016.
Preceding him in death were his wife and love of his life Ruth Ann Legg and his parents James Virgil Young, Jr. and Genevieve McCracken Young.
He was born in Charleston, a graduate of Sissonville High School, class of 1970.
David worked at Unisource Worldwide as the Operations Manager for over 30 years. He also worked at I-77 Raceway Park for many years. He was involved in some way or another with dirt track racing for over 45 years. He truly loved dirt track racing and the racing community. The races will never be the same. I can't imagine not hearing the excitement in his voice over the P.A. System. I know he'll be announcing from heaven with Ruth Ann by his side this summer.
Survivors include John "Jay" Summers and Erica of Elkview; Levi Summers of Pinch; Harlie Summers with Kyle and Jayden Stowers of Charleston; Montana and Jayla Summers of Elkview. The summer's family saw Dave as a Dad and Will forever miss him.
Also surviving are brother's Gary and Mark Young and sister Rita Ramsey.
Dave, you will be in the hearts of everyone who knew you and will be forever missed. Life will never be the same without you, being right next door. We love you with all our hearts. The Summers Family.
