Shirley Ann Cole, 78 of Nitro, WV and the beloved wife of the late Rev. W.H. "Billy" Cole for 55 years, rested her life Thursday January 14, 2016 at the Hubbard Hospice House.
She was born April 13, 1937, in Parkersburg, WV, and was the daughter of the late Rev. Albert Edmond and Mardel Norma Kelbaugh.
At the age of eight, she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance and was baptized by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. She, along with her late husband the Rev. W.H. "Billy" Cole, evangelized throughout the world and established churches in Ravenswood, WV and Wheeling, WV and pastored in Spencer, WV and Charleston, WV. God called them to the mission field to the nation of Thailand where they were the first spirit-filled missionaries and established 53 churches and baptized 289 Buddhists into the Lord Jesus Christ. She was actively involved in ministry for many years seeing multitudes receive the new birth experience as stated in John 3:1-8 and Acts 2:38, and many others being delivered and healed by the power of God. Only Heaven knows her influence in the lives of others. She loved the work of God but most importantly, loved the God of the work.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Cole; one daughter, Brenda Moss; brother, Ronald Kelbaugh; and sister, Eleanor Postelwait. She is held in loving memory by her sister and husband Beverly and Bill Watkins of Columbus, Ohio; son-in-law, Rondel Moss and wife Debbie of Belpre, Ohio; three grandchildren and their spouses, Pastor Anthony and Shanna Moss of Cross Lanes, WV, Johnathan and Kelly Moss of Jacksonville, Florida and Lavonda and Brian Garrett of Nitro, WV; five great-grandchildren, Alauna Moss, Shiran Moss, Jeremiah Moss, Isaiah Garrett and Shiloh Garrett; and the North Charleston Apostolic Church congregation and a worldwide family of friends.
Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Tuesday, January 26 at the North Charleston Apostolic Church, 2400 6th Avenue, Charleston. Officiating will be by esteemed UPCI ministers. Private entombment will follow at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 9 PM. Monday and two hours prior to service Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to NCAC for the church in Thailand, 2400 6th Avenue, Charleston, WV 25387.
